The saga of "Droids" occurs 15 years before the events of "Star Wars: A New Hope". The Galactic Empire is rising in power, and the Rebel Alliance is beginning to organize. In "Droids", however, the main conflict comes from gangsters, space pirates, a ruthless governer, and a wild assortment of insidious monsters and droids. The stories are presented from the point- of-view of C-3PO and his counterpart R2-D2, who serve three different masters during the series. Episode length is 30 minutes. Trivia note: In Star Wars, Treepio is 112 years old and Luke Skywalker is his 43rd master (Source: "Skywalking", by Dale Pollock). "The Trigon One" Friends: Thall Joben - Speeder racer and mechanic from the planet Ingo. Jord Dusat - mechanic and Thall's racing buddy. Kea Moll - rebel freedom fighter from the planet Annoo. Kea's Mother - a rebel leader. Proto-One - self-created repair droid. Enimies: Tig Fromm - gang leader. Vlix - Tig's heavyweight henchman. Sise Fromm - Tig's 900-year-old father and chief gang leader. Boba Fett - Notorious bounty hunter. BL-17 - Fett's Droid. 1. "The White Witch" by Peter Sauders. Airdate: September 7, 1985. On the salt flats of Ingo, the racing team of Thall Joben and Jord Dusat find C-3PO and R2-D2 abandoned by thier former master, a smuggler of stolen cargo. Returning to the city, they fly over the secret headquarters of Tig Fromm, the gang leader. Tig has built the Trigon One, a weapons satelight with which he wants to crush rival gangs. But first he must silence Thall and Jord. 2. "Escape into Terror" by Peter Sauder. Airdate: September 14, 1985 Kea Moll, a rebel freedom fighter, enlists the heroes to infiltrate Tig's base and destroy the Trigon One. 3. "The Trigon Unleashed" by Richard Beban & Peter Sauder. Airdate: September 21, 1985 Tig captures Kea's mother and Jord and threatens to kill them unless Thall reveals where he and Artoo hid the weapons satelight. 4. "A Race to the Finish" by Peter Sauder & Steven Wright. Airdate: September 28, 1985 Thall and Jord prepare their modified landspeeder, the "The White Witch", for the Boota Speeder Race. Sise Fromm Hires Boba Fett to eliminate the racing team, while Tig plants a thermal detonator on "The White Witch" that will explode after 10 laps. Admiral Screed, later to be seen in "The Adventures of Mungo Baobab," makes a cameo appearance. "Mon Julpa" Friends: Jann Tosh: - an idealistic young man, orphaned in the Clone Wars. Jessica Meade - resourceful freighter pilot. Mon Julpa of Tammuz-An. Sollag - Julpa's servant. Uncle Gundy - Jann's legal guardian. Lord Toda - warlord of Tammuz-An. Princess Jerin - Toda's daughter and Julpa's Lover. Prince Coby - Toda's wayward son. Fuzzum warriors of Dandino. Greej - a former menagerie warden. - a substantial property owner of Tyne's Horky. Yorpo Mog - Kleb's burly henchman. IG-88 - bounty hunter droid. Captain Kybo Ren - space pirate. Jinoba - Kybo's first mate. The Starhunters. 5. "The Lost Prince" by Peter Sauder. Airdate: October 5, 1985. At the mining colony of Tyne's Horky, Jann Tosh purchases Artoo and Threepio, plus an android that turns out to be a living be- ing - Mon Julpa, Prince of Tammuz-An. Guest appearances by Sy Snootles and the Max Rebo Band. Adapted by Ellen Weiss in a storybook entitled "The Lost Prince". 6. "The New King" by Peter Sauder. Airdate: October 12, 1985. Julpa had his memory erased by the evil vizier, Zatek Cha. Jann and Jessica Meade fly Julpa to Tammuz-An to claim his rightful throne. But Zatek Cha has hired the bounty hunter droid, IG-88, to stop them. 7. "The Princess of Tarnoonga" by Peter Sauder. Airdate: October 19, 1985 Tammuz-An needs fuel to defend itself against raiders like Kybo Ren, who is using a stolen Imperial Star Destroyer. Flying a decoy fuel tanker, Jann Jessica and the droids are captured and taken to the pirates' base on the water planet of Tarnoonga, home of the monstrous miridon. Adapted by Ellen Weiss in a storybook entitled "The Pirates of Tarnoonga." 8. "The Revenge of Kybo Ren" by Peter Sauder. Airdate: October 26, 1985 While King Julpa tries to unite his planet, Kybo Ren escapes and kidnaps Princess Jerin, Daughter of Lord Toda, Julpa's rival warlord. 9. "Coby and the Starhunters" by Joe Johnston & Peter Sauder. Airdate: November 2, 1985 Jann Tosh and the droids must escort Toda's son, Prince Coby, to the Space Academy. But first, they have to follow a gang of Starhunters and rescue Coby's rare tasilated arboreal bingephant. "The Adventures of Mungo Baobab" Friends: Mungo Baobab - merchant and adventure- seeker. Orin Yom - Umbu rider and Mungo's love interest. Nilz Yom - Orin's Father and Umbu healer. Bola Yom - Orin's mother. Crox - two-headed smuggler. Noop Yeldarb - manager of Umbu Lightstation. Uncle Oggam "Auger" Baobab - a prospector stranded on Roon. Mupples - a prized delicacy. Lin-D - an entertainment droid. Enemies: Admiral Screed - Imperial commander. Governor Koong - ruler of Tauntoon province. Gaff - a ruthless Kobak and aide to Koong. Bun-Dingo - Gaff's droid. These stories occur after events in "The Great Heep." 10. "Tail of the Roon Comets" story by Ben Burtt; teleplay by Michael Reaves. Airdate: November 9, 1985 To save his father's merchant fleet from ruin, Mungo Baobab abd the droids fly to the planet Roon to open a trade rout and find the source of Roonstones, the most valuable gems in the galaxy. But the evil Governor Koong wants the source as well, and forges an alliance with the Empire's Admiral Screed. 11. "The Roon Games" story by Ben Burtt; teleplay by Gordon Kent & Peter Sauder. Airdate: November , 1985 Governor Koong wants to conquer the rich province of Umbu by winning at the Roon Games. Mungo and the droids help Orin Yom and her Umbu riders in the crucial Drain Sweeper event, while the alien Gaff lays plans to stop them. 12. "Across the Roon Sea" story by Ben Burtt; teleplay by Sharman DiVono. Airdate: November 23, 1985 Mungo's great uncle Oggam gives him a vital clue to the source of the Roonstones. But Mungo must choose between treasure and friends as he flees from Governor Koong across the treacherous Roon Sea. 13. "The Frozen Citadel" story by Ben Burtt; teleplay by Paul Dini. Airdate: November 30, 1985 Seeking revenge against Mungo, Koong sprays Umbu province with Rooz, a deadly germ cloud. Koong accidentally gets infected, and captures the healer Nilz Yom to prepare him an antidote, holding Yom's daughter Orin as Hostage. As Mungo follows to rescue them, C-3PO deciphers Oggam's message pyramid that reveals the location of the Roonstones. "The Great Heep" Writer: Ben Burtt. Director: Clive A. Smith. Airdate: June 7, 1986 Cast: The great Heep: Long John Baldry Mungo Boabab: Winston Rickert. Admiral Screed: Graeme Campbell. Fidge: Noah Zylerman. Captain Cag / Announcer: Dan Hennessey. Darva: Melleny Brown. Artoo and Threepio are being shipped to their new master, Mungo Baobab, who is waiting for them on the farm planet Biitu. But the planet has been taken over by the Empire and The Great Heep, a ruthless machine with and appetite for R2 units.
